The library at Lucy Wortham James Elementary School centers serves 850+ students in grades PreK-5 and approximately 100 staff members. The library offers a wide variety of reading material in its 22,000 print book collection along with subscriptions to digital book collections. Students and teachers use online encyclopedia resources and databases for research purposes. Technology is a priority at our school; with grades either being 2:1 or 1:1 with devices. This technology is supported in the library and accompanying lab. Kindergarten students visit the Library once every 7 days as part of their Specials rotation, and students in grades 1st-5th visit once a week for a 30-minute session which includes a mini-lesson and time to check out reading materials.
